More than just a showroom, the distributor asserts, the JBL Synthesis-certified cinema would be designed to showcase the absolute best in high-performance home cinema, providing visitors with an experience that rivals some of the world’s finest cinemas.
JPRO Matches Refined Room Acoustics with Tailored Soundscape
JPRO admits that designing a high-level cinema experience within a compact space presented a unique set of challenges. The room’s limited size required the correct acoustic treatment and strategic speaker placement to maintain an expansive soundstage while mitigating room nodes that could interfere with bass response and if left untreated, would result in an uneven listening experience across the seated audience.
Additionally, JPRO needed to integrate a seamless control system that would allow effortless management of the audio, video, and lighting systems to create a truly immersive experience.
JPRO points out that as part of the design process detailed acoustic measurements of the room were taken, and an IAT (Integrated Acoustic Solution) was then devised to attenuate room nodes, reduce outside noise and diffuse spatial reflections to give the listeners a sense of being in larger space.
To ensure the best possible performance, once the acoustic solution was implemented, the system was calibrated using Dirac Live measurements and Smaart software, enabling precise time alignment and frequency response verification. The result JPRO boasts is a cinematic experience that is both sonically and emotionally captivating. Additionally, seating was optimized for the selected Dolby Atmos soundfield and bass integration.
Well-Crafted Audio Elicits ‘Emotional’ Response from Guests
According to JPRO, the response to the demo room has been overwhelmingly positive, with visitors often experiencing strong emotional reactions to the lifelike, immersive sound. Mark Homan, technical sales manager for JPRO, notes that some clients have even mistaken the system’s bass impact for tactile transducers installed in the seating. The seamless integration of AV and lighting via the AMX Muse control system ensures effortless operation, allowing users to experience the full cinematic effect at the touch of a button.
