UHD35 and UHD38 4K Entertainment Projectors

In a move to support the many facets of the home video market, Optoma has introduced its UHD35 and UHD38 4K Entertainment Projectors.

Optoma says that its latest projectors are designed to meet the requirements of gamers, as well as streaming media and broadcast TV watching homeowners.

The company points out the UHD35 and UHD38 incorporate Texas Instruments’ (TI) DLP technologies, and the products are rated to respectively produce up to 3,600 and 4,000 lumens of brightness. Optoma also emphasizes the projectors are certified by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) as True 4K products through their ability to produce 8.3 million pixels.

Optoma states the projectors support gaming activities with options such as its Enhanced Gaming Mode that delivers a low input lag response time of 4.2ms to produce smooth, fluid images.

Breaking down the response times of several video formats, Optoma says the UHD35 and UHD38 are capable of these input lag times:

  • 4K at 60Hz: 16.7ms
  • 1080p at 60Hz: 16.7ms
  • 1080p at 120Hz: 8.9ms
  • 1080p at 240Hz: 4.2ms

The company also points out the projectors can produce images up to 300 inches, and they are compatible with the HDR10 and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) high dynamic range (HDR) formats.

Optoma adds the UHD35 and UHD38 offer dual HDMI 2.0 inputs with HDCP 2.2, as well as 12-volt triggers, and the products offer lamp life capabilities up to 15,000 hours.
