Bringing smart home functionality to a new category of products, Space has launched The Space Safe to help users secure their valuables.
According to the company, a burglary occurs in the U.S. every 26 seconds and the resulting loss averages $2,800.
The Space Safe enables users to check on their valuables through the product’s interior and exterior cameras. The safe includes a user-friendly companion app to facilitate remote monitoring and it provides notifications.
The Space Safe resides on users’ networks to support a wealth of connected activities, and Space emphasizes that if users want to stay off the grid, the safe acts just like a traditional safe with all of the features a standard safe offers.
Other features built into the safe include a 10-inch LCD display, as well as the ability to store up to four users with pin code or biometric access. If users don’t recognize someone in view of the safe’s cameras, the user can disable the safe and alert 911 using the app.
Additional features the Space Safe provides includes two-way communications to complement the visuals of the cameras, SMS and in-app notifications via Wi-Fi, temporary access for emergencies, interior and exterior lights, an internal backup battery that provides power during electrical failures, and two interior USB charging ports.
