NAD C 399 Hybrid Digital DAC Amplifier

Developed to serve as the company’s Classic Series flagship product, NAD has announced its new C 399 Hybrid Digital DAC Amplifier.

NAD states that its latest amplifier takes value and performance to a new level, and the amp utilizes the company’s HybridDigital nCore amplification technologies. The company points out prior to the release of the C 399, the only products to incorporate HybridDigital nCore technologies were its high-performance Masters Series amps.

Internally, the new NAD DAC amplifier features a 32-bit/384kHz ESS DAC (digital-to-analog converter), and the C 399 is the first NAD amplifier to utilize its latest-generation Modular Design Construction (MDC) technologies. The use of NAD’s MDC platform allows integrators to easily add features such as the BluOS Hi-Res multiroom audio platform, Dirac Live room correction and more.

According to the company, the C 399 is rated to produce 180 watts per channel of continuous power, including the ability to drive low-impedance speaker loads, and 250 watts of instantaneous power.

NAD notes the new amplifier also incorporates an ESS Sabre ES9028 high-resolution DAC, which the company says allows the product to reproduce content from digital sources with a wide dynamic range, low noise and high levels of clarity.

Additionally, the C 399 includes Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and when a BluOS-D MDC2 card is installed, the amp also supports Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect with control from an app that’s available on the iOS and Android platforms.
