Epson, a global electronics company known for its printer and projection products has just announced its next-generation Moverio BT-40 and BT-40S augmented reality smart glasses.
According to the company, its new smart glasses are designed to provide users with a quality augmented reality viewing experience.
Powered by Epson‘s Si-OLED technology, the Moverio BT-40 and BT-40S deliver a wide field-of-view (FOV), as well as a full 1080p display resolution, high contrast levels, improved connectivity, and an adjustable, easy-to-wear design.
Epson specifies the smart glasses to provide a 34-degree FOV, along with a heads-up, hands-free user experience with an equivalent to watching a 120-inch screen from a 15-foot distance. Other specifications include a 500,000:1 contrast ratio, which is said to allow unused display space to appear transparent.
The binocular design also offers Epson’s latest industrial design, along with USB Type-C connectivity to support the Moverio BT-40 and BT-40S’ use with a variety of smart devices.
Epson also points out the smart glasses come with the free companion Moverio Link app, and the company says the glasses support work from home (WFH) and traditional office work applications.
Additionally, Epson says the new Moverio BT-40S augmented reality smart glasses include Intelligent Controller Android 9.0 support to provide users with options such as an integrated touchscreen and customized user interfaces.
