The San Jose, Calif.-based networking company Firewalla points out that according to Ookla, in April 2023 the median fixed broadband download speed was 202.4Mbps, which is 33% faster than April 2022. Responding to the demand for network speed, Firewalla is introducing its Firewalla Gold SE network firewall.
Firewalla states that its latest networking product is a plug-and-play device that is designed to handle today and tomorrow’s networking demands, including higher network speeds. The West Coast company says its Firewalla Gold SE incorporates a pair of 2.5 gigabit ports for fast wide area networks and local area network capabilities.
The new network firewall also incorporates two 1 gigabit ports for network segmentation, and the product is powered by a Quadcore ARM processor with 4 gigabytes of memory and 32 gigabytes of storage. Through these capabilities the company continues, the new network firewall is also capable of processing packets at 2 gigabits to support today and tomorrow’s networking needs.
Firewalla adds that professional integrators can use its new networking products in a number of ways, including as a router; it can be setup to operate between networks, or it can be used to augment home networks.
