Spectrum Brands Inc., Hardware & Home Improvement Division member, Kwikset, has introduced the Home Connect 620 Connected Smart Lock.
Kwikset says that its newest Z-Wave enabled door lock features Z-Wave 700 chip technologies, and the lock incorporates a 10-button keypad and one-touch locking capabilities.
The Lake Forest, Calif.-based company explains the Home Connect 620 provides homeowners with 250 user codes, along with all-metal construction, and its latest industrial designs.
Kwikset emphasizes, one of the most important features of the Home Connect 620 is the inclusion of the 700 Series Z-Wave chip. The company says the chip provides a number of advantages such as extended wireless range and wireless security features that maximize network security.
According to the company, through the use of Z-Wave SmartStart, integrators can enroll devices by scanning a QR code before starting an installation to facilitate interoperability and control of the smart door lock.
Using Z-Wave’s S2 framework, Kwikset continues, the Home Connect 620 includes an additional layer of AES 128-bit encryption of wireless signals for improved security.
Other features built into the new Kwikset smart lock include the company’s SmartKey Security that is said to provide resistance to common and more advanced break-in threats such as torque attacks and lock bumping.
The Home Connect 620 smart lock is available in a choice of polished brass, satin nickel, Venetian bronze in the traditional design. The contemporary design color choices include matte black, satin nickel and Venetian bronze.
