The new Yamaha YAS-108 soundbar, the successor to its popular YAS-107 soundbar, provides homeowners with a host of features, including DTS Virtual: X surround sound for an MSRP of $200.

The YAS-108 employs a low-profile industrial design that complements TVs and most home environments. Featuring a slim appearance with rounded ends, the speaker's built-in keyholes allow integrators to mount the product on walls or place it within a cabinet or furniture.

“Entertainment, music and gaming enthusiasts looking for a soundbar in the price range of the YAS-108 are awash in choices from TV brands and other companies offering commodity products. However, thanks to our six decades of leadership in home theater systems, the best sound will come from Yamaha,” boasts Robert Goedken, general manager, AV division, Yamaha Corporation of America

“The enhancements on the YAS-108 reflect our commitment to offering exceptional sound quality and value.”

Yamaha Soundbar Loaded with Connectivity, Processing Options

Looking beyond the design and functionality of the YAS-108, the soundbar offers a choice of connections, including HDMI, optical, and analog audio.

The YAS-108's HDMI output provides an Audio Return Channel (ARC) to receive stereo and multichannel audio from broadcast and streaming TV apps, helping to eliminate the need for additional cables.

Providing the latest in surround sound technologies, the soundbar also offers DTS Virtual:X 3D processing. Through the use of DTS Virtual:X, the soundbar provides homeowners with an immersive 3D listening experience without having to add rear surrounds and height-channel speakers, according to the company.

The YAS-108 includes a pair of built-in subwoofers that employ a bass-reflex design to augment the dynamic capabilities of the product's twin tweeters and multiple midrange drivers.

In addition, the soundbar provides Bluetooth audio streaming designed to make it easier for users to stream music from their favorite devices. The YAS-108 is capable of working with two Bluetooth devices simultaneously without having to disconnect one device to listen to the preferred device.

Moreover, the YAS-108's inclusion of Yamaha's Clear Voice technology is designed to improve the audio quality of spoken dialog in movies and TV shows.

The YAS-108 soundbar will be available from Yamaha in July for an MSRP of $200.
