SaaviHome, the Denver-based smart home integration firm that last year launched a franchise business model, has officially launched its first two franchise locations in the Boulder and Castle Rock territories in Colorado.

According to SaaviHome, the first SaaviHome franchisee, A.J. Kuhrmeyer, will spearhead the new locations. Per the announcement, Kuhrmeyer is an ideal fit for the SaaviHome franchise model due to his “wealth of experience and a passion for innovative technology solutions.”

Joining SaaviHome is an incredible opportunity to bring top-tier smart home technology solutions to more customers while being supported by a proven business model,” says Kuhrmeyer.

The SaaviHome Franchise Model

The company announced the franchise model in August 2023 to give entrepreneurs an entry into the professional smart home industry. With the company experiencing a nearly 300% growth rate since 2020 from servicing the Mountain West region, SaaviHome envisions continued growth while offering others a chance to enter the market.

When SaaviHome launched the franchise model last year, President and CEO Gavin Lantzy said the company looks to open locations in the Denver area as well as neighboring states, such as Utah, Arizona and Nevada. Outside of the Mountain West region and states bordering Colorado, Lantzy next eyes Texas, Southeastern U.S. and elsewhere on the East Coast before circling back through the Midwest and eventually to the West Coast.

“I am humbled with the expansion of SaaviHome and welcome A.J. as our first franchisee,” Lantzy said in a statement on the new franchise locations. “His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for smart home technology align perfectly with our values. Our mission is to build a national brand that prioritizes the customer experience with easy-to-use technology that lets homeowners relax, entertain, and feel safe at home. We are confident that A.J. will bring the same level of service to the Boulder and Castle Rock communities that SaaviHome is known for.”

Franchising the Smart Home Industry

In last year’s interview with CE Pro, Lantzy estimated that the company can successfully prop up 100 franchise locations on the high end. Similar to restaurant chains, a customer’s experience with SaaviHome will be consistent across locations. Franchisees will offer the same products, services and support and experiences as their co-franchisees.  Franchisees will have to pay an initial investment of between $160,100 to $284,100, which is based on projections that include franchise fees, support systems and other costs to start a business.

SaaviHome is not the only integration firm hoping to launch franchise locations, as Costa Mesa, Calif.-based network of integration firms Daisy is also in the smart home franchise business, currently operating five locations in the Bay Area, Sarasota, Fla., Los Gatos, Calif., Connecticut, North Carolina and Texas. The company is actively engaging in deals with other integrators around the country, and plans to be in at least 26 markets in 2024.

To celebrate the launch of the new Boulder and Castle Rock locations, SaaviHome will host a grand opening event on Aug. 6 from 5-8 PM at the CET & Associates’ Denver Showroom located at 2248 S Delaware St., Denver, Colo. Attendees can meet Kuhrmeyer, the SaaviHome team, and learn about the latest smart home technology. In addition, Qadra Evans, Zillow’s director of industry relations for new construction, will give a keynote address to share her insights on the trends shaping the smart home technology and builder markets.
