British audio brand Q Acoustics has announced the launch of its latest high-performance subwoofer series, the Q SUB, which the company says is designed to complement home theater and hi-fi audio systems.
The audio manufacturer says the Q Sub comes in three models to suit various room sizes and configurations, including and 8-inch model, a 10-inch model, and a 12-nch model.
Each model features an on-board DSP for precise tuning of bass response, phase adjustments, signal delay, and crossover points, allowing the subwoofers to integrate with existing audio systems and provide distortion-free performance.
The subwoofers are constructed with 18mm MDF cabinets, reinforced with double-thick front baffles and internal dart bracing to minimize vibrations and maintain structural integrity.
The company boasts the Q SUB series’ minimalist design, with color options including Satin Black with a black grille or Satin White with a grey grille.
The company says the new Q SUB models join the slimline 3060S to complete the Q Acoustics’ subwoofer family. The Q SUB series is available now, with pricing starting at $899 for the Q SUB80, $1,049 for the Q SUB100, and $1,249 for the Q SUB120.
Performance
According to the company, the subwoofers are powered by a custom parallel bridge-tied load (PBTL) module, the Q SUB series delivers 300W of continuous output, with peaks up to 600W. The subwoofers have a low pass filter with frequency adjustment ranging from 40Hz to 250Hz, ensuring they can complement the low-frequency response of almost any partnering speakers.
Ease of use
The company says it designed the Q SUB series with user convenience in mind. The subwoofers feature automatic standby modes that activate when signals are detected, minimizing power usage when inactive. The omnidirectional nature of the deep bass allows for flexible placement within a room, making setup straightforward.
