In today’s smart home climate, an increasing number of households subscribe to at least one streaming service.
With so many streaming services available and so many homes subscribing multiple services, a growing number of consumers are starting to wrestle with a couple of questions related to streaming media. The first question probably elicits a response that cannot be answered.
That question is how many streaming content services are enough? Of course, no one can answer that because that answer depends on someone’s financial situation and someone’s willingness to subscribe to these services.
The other question is also financially motivated, and it is something that can be answered thanks to recently released data from the interactive guide service Reelgood.
Reelgood undertook a study in which it analyzed the number of movies and TV shows available from some of today’s most popular streaming service providers to determine what services offer the best value to subscribers. The research looks at the total number of titles available from each of the respective streaming services and the quality of the content based on ratings from IMDB.com.
Focusing specifically on how Reelgood quantified the quality of the content, the interactive guide app says its criterion was movies rated as 6.5 for the term quality movie or quality TV show; 7.5 for high-quality movies, and 8.0 for high-quality TV shows. Moreover, Reelgood filtered these titles through the qualification of a title having a minimum of 300 consumer ratings.
Here are the Results of Reelgood’s Study on Streaming Service Providers
For its study, Reelgood looked at some of the top names in the streaming media category, including Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and HBO Max.
